At approximately 8:00 a.m. today, July 6, 2017, Compliance Response Team members, Sheriff Detectives from the Special Investigations Bureau and a CHP K-9 team, served an arrest warrant at a residence in the 700 block of Brandy Ct. in Santa Maria. 43-year-old Elias Bravo of Santa Maria, who was wanted for violating the terms of his community supervision, was inside the residence along with five other adults and an 18-month-old child.

During the investigation, authorities determined that 47-year-old Anthony Borunda was in possession of an 8 mm rifle with a loaded magazine, approximately 1000 rounds of .223 ammunition, approximately 24 grams of suspected cocaine, a digital scale and more than $1,400 in cash. Borunda is a convicted felon and was currently out on bail for possession of a controlled substance for sale and being a felon in possession of ammunition.

Inside the residence, drug paraphernalia and evidence of recent controlled substance usage was found within an area of the house where the 18-month-old child frequented. The investigation revealed that the environment where the child lived and the adults responsible for the child’s care knowingly allowed the child to be exposed to the dangerous substances.

The child was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Child Welfare Services responded to assist with finding placement for the child.

A total of five people were arrested during this investigation and transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail. Borunda was booked on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a controlled substance for sale and committing a felony while on bail. Bravo was booked for possession of a controlled substance and for violating the terms of his community supervision. 35-year-old Ronald Pinot was booked on charges of violating the terms of his parole. 31-year-old Krys Carminati was booked on charges of child endangerment and providing false identifying information. 37-year-old Christopher Sanchez was booked on charges of child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
