Multiple Patrol Officers saturated the area.  One officer was flagged down by a witness who further identified the suspect vehicle.  That officer caught up to a vehicle matching the description and initialized a high-risk stop near Milpas Street and Montecito Street.

Officers instructed each of the subjects to exit the vehicle one-by-one.  A total of five subjects were taken into custody – three of which were juveniles. A search of the vehicle recovered two separate firearms.

Subsequently, the victim and witness of the robbery positively identified each of the subjects and the vehicle. Preliminary reports suggest that the assailants were from outside the area.

  1. Armed robbers from out of our area coming up here to threaten us in broad daylight ! That is bold …. and STUPID. … A big THANK YOU to our SBPD Officers who were right on top of it, protecting us and letting these gang bangers know that Santa Barbara is not easy pickings.

  2. Possibly our first Latina mayor, Cathy Murillo, could do a public service announcement in Spanish and English to warn off would-be criminals who want to do harm in our community. I think it would go a long way coming from the top.
