Firefighters Respond to Foundation Fire

Santa Barbara County firefighters knocked down a fire underneath a Santa Maria Valley home early Friday morning.

At 1:41 a.m., SBCFD crews along with Santa Maria City Firefighters responded to the 1500 block of Solon Road. they discovered a single-family residence on a raised foundation with fire underneath the home. 

Crews located the fire and quickly knocked it down before checking for any extension into the home. Ventilation operations followed to clear the smoke from the house.

There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.
