Firefighters Rescue Man from Tajiguas Cliff Fall

Santa Barbara County Firefighters rescued a man who had fallen off a beachside cliff near Gaviota Tuesday afternoon.

At 1:25 p.m., fire crews and a helicopter responded to Tajiguas Beach, north of Refugio State Beach. They discovered a 37-year-old male had fallen approximately 20-25 feet and suffered lower leg trauma and a shoulder injury.

The patient was treated on the scene by ground firefighter-paramedics and hoisted into the helicopter. He was then transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for further treatment.
