Santa Barbara County Fire Department crews stopped the forward progress of a roadside vegetation fire along northbound Highway 101 at Naples on Wednesday evening.
The fire was reported at approximately 5:57 p.m. on June 3, prompting a response of four engines and one battalion chief.
The blaze burned an estimated quarter-acre of vegetation along the highway corridor before firefighters halted its spread at 6:23 p.m., roughly 25 minutes after the initial report.
No structures were threatened by the fire, according to the fire department. Crews remained on scene conducting mop-up operations to fully extinguish any remaining hot spots and prevent the fire from rekindling.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
Naples is located along a scenic stretch of the Gaviota Coast in western Santa Barbara County, where dry roadside vegetation and passing traffic can contribute to fire risk during warmer months.
