A fire that erupted on Tuesday afternoon in the 1800 Block of Miranda Canyon within the Highway 166 corridor attracted a sizable response from local fire departments, as teams worked to contain the dual-threat of both vegetation and structure fires.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department, along with firefighters from Santa Maria and Los Padres National Forest, were swift to the scene following the emergency call at 4:58 PM. Initially found spreading across an estimated area of one-quarter acre, the vegetation fire’s progress has been successfully halted.
Despite the quick containment of the wildfire component, at least one large building appears to be engulfed in flames. The fight against the structure fire has been designated as the incident’s priority, according to department spokespeople.
Aerial footage obtained by SBC Fire has depicted dramatic scenes of the building ablaze, underscoring the severity of the situation.

As of now, no injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. SBC Fire stated air tankers have been released.
The fire was officially knocked down by 6:56 p.m. Firefighting teams will remain at the scene to ensure the blaze is fully extinguished and to prevent any potential flare-ups.
This is a developing story.
