Firefighters Extinguish Vehicle Fire on Railroad Tracks in Santa Maria

Emergency services were mobilized on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, when a vehicle caught fire on the railroad tracks near the intersection of Sinton Road and Ray Road, just west of Santa Maria.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department teams arrived on the scene and witnessed a vehicle fully engulfed in fire, which had ignited under circumstances that are yet to be disclosed by officials.

The responders acted quickly to control and extinguish the blaze, ensuring that the flames did not spread to the surrounding rail cars or the adjacent brush.

Authorities have confirmed that there were no injuries. The cause is under investigation.
