Santa Barbara County firefighters extinguished a rubbish fire inside a trash truck in Goleta on Monday afternoon.
At 1:43 p.m., crews responded to the intersection of S. Patterson Ave and More Ranch Road for a MarBorg truck with its trash contents on fire.
The operator dumped the burning load into the roadway and blocked both lanes of S. Patterson Ave for extinguishment operations.

The fire was knocked down at 2:10 p.m. with crews who remained on the scene for overhaul of remaining hot spots.
MarBorg sent heavy equipment and a secondary trash truck for debris removal. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.
