Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a report of a brush fire off Highway 101 near Orcutt on Sunday afternoon.
At 2:13 p.m. crews arrived in the southbound lanes near exit 161 and discovered a 0.2 acre fire along the highway.
Crews stopped the forward progress within 30 minutes.
There were no injuries and threatened structures. The cause is under investigation.
