Firefighters Extinguish Kitchen Fire in Santa Maria Home

Santa Barbara County firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire in a Santa Maria home on Saturday afternoon.

At 2:53 p.m., crews responded to the scene in the 1400 block of Oak Knoll Road. 

Upon arrival, they discovered a small fire in the kitchen that had spread to the cabinets and inside the wall. Crews checked for further extension of the fire, but none was.

Residents were not home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

The cause is under investigation.
