Firefighters Contain Ten Acre Brush Fire in Los Alamos, No Injuries Reported

A vegetation fire that sparked Sunday afternoon in the 8200 block of Alisos Canyon Road in Los Alamos, was brought under control within hours, thanks to the prompt response by Santa Barbara County fire personnel.

The emergency call was received at 4:48 p.m. on Sunday and reached approximately 10 acres. Firefighters were able to halt its forward progress by 6:39 p.m. the same day.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department deployed water tenders, bulldozers, medic engines, and multiple fire engines and a helicopter. Throughout Sunday night, the fire did not experience any growth and remained estimated at about 10 acres.

As of 11:00 a.m. on Monday, authorities declared the fire 100% contained. Fire crews remained diligent on the scene, engaging in mop-up activities to thoroughly extinguish all remaining remnants of the fire.

The County Fire Department stated there were downed power lines in the area, although the exact cause has yet to be determined.

There were no injuries or damaged structures.
