A comprehensive road repair project on Mission Street enters its final phase this weekend. Mission Street from the Highway 101 overpass to State Street will receive a total grind and overlay of new pavement, providing a new driving surface and smoothing out dips. Pavement work will take place from Saturday, October 19 through Wednesday, October 23 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Mission Street and all cross streets between Castillo Street and State Street will experience temporary closures during construction hours. Not all cross streets will be closed at the same time. The work will be phased to manage detoured traffic and local access for residents and businesses. Drivers are advised to choose an alternate route and avoid the Mission Street corridor.

Traffic signal conduit installation is currently underway and will finish prior to the pavement work.

Striping of Mission Street will follow shortly after to complete the Mission Street Pavement Maintenance Project. The City thanks the community for your support and patience throughout this important project. For more information about this project, visitwww.SantaBarbaraCA.gov/MissionStreetPaving.
