Some of the priority projects that will be included in the proposed budget being deliberated by Council include:

  • Lease purchase of two Fire Apparatus

The City Council is scheduled to formally adopt its budget at its June 21 meeting. The City’s recommended budget for FY2023 can be found by accessing the new, online budget tool at www.SantaBarbaraCA.gov/budget.

  1. Bird, you’re right. And I think that’s a great observation. The Santa Barbara City managers like it that way – they can take as long as they want to do as little as they want, with as little public involvement as possible. Why should they work efficiently and adhere to deadlines like private sector workers? They simply dont have any force pushing them to do so. And this is why massive taxpayer dollars are going down the tubes (= into the pension black hole ultimately) in California every day, week, month, and year.
