Fiesta Horse Parade Contest!

Update by the edhat staff

It’s good to be back amongst locals and tourists, watching horses dance and prance along Cabrillo Blvd. Viva la Fiesta!

An edhat staff member ventured through the throngs of people with their trusty counter to get to the most accurate number of horses (not mules or donkeys) in the parade this year, the first time in three years! And by accurate, we mean, most horses. There were many times our staffer said, “cool carriage!” and “wow, how does a horse dance like that?” and “Is that a seagull up there?” and “I think it pooped on me.”

Based on our most likely but not definitely accurate count, the parade this year had 339 horses and a fair amount of mules and donkeys! The closest number we received came from BobScan at 350. Congrats Bob, you just won an ed hat, edhat tshirt, and $50 gift card to a local business of your choice!

It’s been three years but we’re back baby! Our annual Fiesta parade horse counting contest is back and you need to enter your guess ASAP for a chance to win a prize.

The rules are the same as they’ve always been. One edhat staffer will watch the parade in close detail and count how many horses took place in the parade. Keep in mind that we only count horses. Not mules, donkeys, or bulls. Yes, sometimes a man rides a bull, it’s fun. Will our number be 100% accurate? No. There are many distractions like dancing, and music, and a man riding a bull, but we do our best.

What’s the prize? Great question! We’ll be giving away some edhat swag and a $25 gift card to a local business.

Submit your guess of how many horses will be in this year’s parade by Friday, August 5th at 11:00 a.m. A winner will be contacted after the parade has concluded.
