The driver has been identified as 58-year-old Ruben C. Martinez of Lompoc.

The investigating is ongoing.

One person was killed in a single-vehicle rollover collision on Highway 246 in the Drum Canyon area on Thursday evening.

At 7:20 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the area in between Buellton and Lompoc near the intersection of Domingos Road with a ground ambulance. They discovered a vehicle on its side with its sole occupant ejected from the vehicle. The motorist was declared dead on arrival, said Fire Captain Daniel Bertucelli.

All additional resources were cancelled. California Highway Patrol and law enforcement were conducting traffic control in the area and are investigating the cause of the collision.

Rollover traffic collision on Drum Canyon Road. Two fire engines and medics are responding, possibly fatal. Cancelled Calstar.

CHP had different RPs and like I said they had 2 different locations. At one point CHP thought there were two different accidents and County even requested 2 Medics.

Now saying CHP not finding a victim. Stating vehicle was on it's side and on Domingos Rd. at 246. which is just east in Drum Cyn. On call tow sent. Lompoc County Engine staying on scene for vehicle recovery.
