One person has died in a rollover traffic collision off Highway 101 near Buellton on Monday, December 1.
At 10:26 a.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to northbound lanes at Jonata Park Road for a solo traffic collision of a pickup truck. The reporting party stated a dark colored Ford Ranger rolled down an embankment on the east side of Highway 101, south of Jonata Park Road.
One male patient was inside the vehicle. It took firefighters ten minutes to extricate the patient from the pickup truck.
The initial report from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department stated CPR was in progress on the patient. A followup from the department confirmed the patient was declared deceased at 11:13 a.m.
One lane of Highway 101 northbound, just north of Buellton, was closed for a period of time. It has since been reopened.
