The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has identified motorcyclist died in a vehicle collision on Foxen Canyon Road early Thursday evening.
The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Jeffrey Marez of Santa Maria.
A motorcyclist died in a vehicle collision on Foxen Canyon Road early Thursday evening.
At 6:12 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters and California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the 4900 block of Foxen Canyon Road at Depot Street in Sisquoc.
First arriving crews discovered a vehicle had collided head-on with a motorcycle. The vehicle had three passengers who sustained minor injuries while the solo motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcycle had caught fire following the collision that had minor extension into the nearby brush that firefighters quickly extinguished.
CHP had shut down the roadway temporarily and is investigating the collision.
The identity of the motorcyclist has yet to be released.
