Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Santa Ynez

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff Coroner’s Bureau has released the name of the victim from the motorcycle collision in Santa Ynez on Thursday.

The decedent is 70-year-old Frank Butcher of Santa Barbara.

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a vehicle in Santa Ynez on Thursday morning.

At 10:48 a.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters, AMR ground ambulance, and a Calstar helicopter responded to the 4800 block of Baseline Road for a collision.

Upon arrival, crews found a single motorcyclist, a male approximately in his 60s, suffering from cardiac arrest. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the rider but he succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the collision is under investigation and traffic restrictions are in place in the area.
