Family Service Agency (FSA) will present inaugural honors to five longtime community champions at its Dreams in Bloom gala on May 14, 2026, a garden party celebration hosted at the Carpinteria estate of Ginny and Tim Bliss from 6 to 9 p.m.
Gala co-chairs Scott Wester, Jon Clark, and Carole MacElhenny will recognize:
- Ron Werft with the Partnership Award
- Marni and Michael Cooney with the Founders Award
- Guy R. Walker and Molly Carrillo-Walker with the Champion’s Award
The evening will feature live music, a silent auction, and a live auction emceed by Andrew Firestone.

“For 126 years, Family Service Agency has shown up for our community in schools, in homes, in hospitals and libraries, and at kitchen tables across Santa Barbara County,” said FSA CEO Lisa Brabo. “This year, we have the privilege of saying thank you to the people who have shown up for us. People like Marni and Michael, Ron, and Molly and Guy are the reason FSA is what it is today, and we are honored to celebrate them.”
Gala Co-Chair Carole MacElhenny added, “The people we are honoring on May 14th have spent decades demonstrating what sustained community investment looks like, and their example is exactly what we need right now. We hope everyone who cares about the future of human services in Santa Barbara County will join us for this evening.”
Proceeds from Dreams in Bloom support FSA’s countywide programs, including mental health counseling, youth and family services, support for older adults and caregivers, and Family Resource Centers from Santa Maria to Santa Barbara and Lompoc to Carpinteria.
Last year, FSA served more than 19,000 individuals, ranging in age from newborns to 109.
