Unfortunately the Miramar is not what it was cracked up to be by the “Caruso Team” when they were begging for Community support for approval. It is a pretentious, uptight, Euro staffed place that has nothing to do with traditional Montecito. I was friends with the Gazner family that owned the property most of my Life. I grew up playing on Miramar Beach and bothering Jacque and Grover Barnes, my good friend! Nothing like that now. I am sure that VIP whomever they my be are welcomed with open arms and open bank account, but us Locals, not so much!I hope Caruso gets elected Mayor of LA and loses interest here and sells to someone else. We Locals do not like his “resort”! Next!
Their management company is Euro and they brought a bunch of “Euro staff” to open the place and they remain. I like some of them but they are not Montecito locals, they are trained to be uptight and pretentious, and they have no idea how to behave here. Unlike the old Miramar, the San Ysidro Ranch and the Biltmore, no Montecito Locals working at the Miramar.
and what part of the PR Staff are you? Caruso certainly has a well paid PR staff, ready to respond to anything like this, just look at what he is paying to run for Mayor!
Pretentious, tacky and overpriced. They lost local support when the Caruso meatheads in suits kicked a bunch of kids off the public beach in front of the restaurant.
