Evacuation Order Lifted in Old Town Goleta Due to Gas Leak

Hollister Avenue between Magnolia Avenue and Fairview Avenue in Old Town is back open and the evacuation order for residents in the 100 block of Orange Avenue has been lifted.
Crews completed a temporary repair to the damaged gas line that occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. during Old Town Sidewalks construction project activities. Crews will work overnight to complete permanent repairs.

An evacuation order was sent out to those in the 100 block of Orange Ave due to a gas leak.
This is in the Old Town area of Goleta where a construction crew hit a gas line.
All residences and adjacent buildings have been evacuated. There is no fire or injuries reported at this time. Crews are on the scene and en route to repair the line.
Hollister Avenue in both directions is closed between Magnolia and Fairview with traffic being diverted.
More information will be added as soon as it's available.
Santa Barbara Fire and Sheriff's personnel have closed Hollister Avenue between Fairview and Orange Avenues, effective at 2:15, due to a broken gas line. The closure is expected to last 2 to 3 hours to allow the company to make repairs.
