Emergency response to Pedregosa and Chino Streets on the Westside around 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

It’s possible an e-cyclist was clipped by a vehicle. I didn’t get all the details, but there has been an increase in traffic issues in our neighborhood since the bicycle cord went in on Gillespie Street.

Shutting down Gillespie Street has forced vehicle traffic to Villa Avenue. Stop signs on Chino and Pedregosa are needed.

  1. We have 100 years of automobile safety development – 3,000 pound metal shell around us, safety glass, seat belts, air bags, padded dashes, slide away engines, collapsable steering wheel, roll bars and on and on. So now the government encourages us to balance on a 50 pound bike, with virtually no safety features. A fender bender in one is fatal in the other.
