I was in Miami in a high rise hotel where the elevator stopped for just two minutes or so. I was by myself and had a hyperventilating panic attack. Not fun!

Getting stuck is an out of control moment. Panic attacks tend to cluster in those who want or need a lot of control in their lives. A personality affliction - self-control is good, but ability to handle out of control situations with something other than a triggered panic attack is even better.

Get over it; a stuck elevator is benign. An elevator in free-fall is another matter.
