Yesterday (Monday), edhat reported on an electrical fire at the Bacara resort, but there was another fire that happened as well.

Around 2:45 p.m. Monday, Santa Barbara City firefighters responded to a report of a fire in the 800 block of State Street. Specifically, the Howard-Canfield building cornering Canon Perdido Street.

Crews evacuated several of the retail stores and offices in the building and discovered a small fire in an electrical room.

The fire had not spread and workers on the scene were able extinguish the fire prior to firefighter arrival.

No report of how much damage was done, but employees were able to go back into the building shortly thereafter.
