A beautiful 1937 Lockheed 12A Electra Jr. was parked at SBA Friday, and John Wiley shared some pics. Does it look similar to the plane in Amelia's last flight?
Hers had a little window in the back....but yes, very similar.
Yes, even parked, interior's redone too, and it's quite a rare bird (only 130 build and ~10 flying). It looked like a time machine from 1937 sitting among the corporate jets. Check out the wiki pages for Lockheed 12, and the slightly less rare Lockheed 10 of Earhart fame it's based on. You can see interior pix from one (this one?) listed for sale: https://www.aircraftdealer.com/aircraft-for-sale-detail/Lockheed_12A/1937-Lockheed-12A-/68871.htm
I’m expecting Howard Hughes to show up and start taking notes on how to improve his next model.
What a beautiful plane.....
Such graceful lines on the plane. Thanks John for the link to the sales page to look inside.
