Does anyone have recommendations for an attorney that specializes in education and special needs? Thank you in advance.

It sounds like you have a dispute regarding your child's special education services. The best way to work through the dispute is to reach out to local folks who have been trained on Alternative Dispute Resolution in cases like this. I recommend contacting either Alpha Resource Center (683-2145) or Santa Barbara SELPA (683-1424). If you try that and are still feeling stuck it might be time to find an attorney. Good luck!

I'm confused by the question. Would this be to sue the school district or to get rights or benefits for someone who's disabled?

Most likely yes. Since funding is involved, it *can* be VERY difficult to get schools to provide what they are legally required to for disabled students.
