I just read your post for a ride in 2011, going along the Ortega Ridge Trail, etc. The place you commented looks like a playhouse is actually a clock tower on the home there. We owned/lived there for 4 years. The boarding stable has owners who are often there riding their horses or turning them into the arena. I exercised one of the horses for the owner and was impressed with how well the place is run. When I was a kid there were a lot of "backyard" horses but development has changed that, glad there is a place people can still own horses in Montecito. The Coffin trail was fought for many years ago when an owner wanted to close the dedicated trail. We had to go to court and fight tooth and nail. It was part of the package when the property was sold and meant to be here in perpetuity.

Nov 20, 2017 09:30 AMI rode up there often when I had horses. What makes the view here extra special is looking through the ears of your mule. Thanks!
