The City Parks and Recreation Department will host a blessing at Eastside Neighborhood Park of Los Voladores de Papantla, a newly created mural, as well as three recently re-envisioned murals by local artist and muralist Miguel Rodriguez.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 21 at 5:30 p.m. The Eastside Neighborhood Park is located at 118 N. Soledad Street (on the corner of Soledad and Yanonali Streets) and the community is invited to attend the mural blessing ceremony.

The collection of four murals pay homage to pre-Columbian people using colorful imagery that is representative of various Indigenous cultures, including Chumash, Aztec, Maya, Yaqui, and Totonac. The project was directed by artist and muralist Miguel Rodriguez and was funded by the Parks and Recreation Department.
