Early Morning Fire Damages Sandbar Restaurant

A fire erupted around 1:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sandbar Mexican Restaurant and Tequila Bar on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara. 

Flames were not visible but smoke was seen coming from the roof and the fire seemed to have started in the attic. The interior of the restaurant was not affected, but it’s estimated that $75,000 worth of damage was done to the building, reports KEYT News.

There was no damage to the inside of the restaurant but officials estimate that $75,000 worth of damage did impact the building.

Customers and employees were inside the building when the fire started, but everyone was able to safely evacuate.

The restaurant is currently closed.
