A fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday at the Seaside Inn Hotel, located on Hueneme Road in Port Hueneme, resulting in two people being hospitalized.

The Ventura County Fire Department, along with assistance from the Oxnard Fire Department and Federal Fire Ventura County, responded to the emergency call made at 3:38 a.m.

Approximately 40 firefighters worked to manage the flames, which were reported to be confined to a single room of the single-story hotel.

A critical situation unfolded when one individual was found trapped amid the fire. Thanks to the firefighters’ aggressive interior attack, the victim was successfully rescued but subsequently transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Another patient, who suffered from smoke inhalation, was also taken to the hospital for further medical treatment.

The firefighting teams remained on site for nearly two hours, carrying out overhaul and salvage operations to ensure that the fire was completely extinguished and to prevent any potential flare-ups.

Although the fire was effectively contained to one room, the cause of the blaze is still under intense investigation by the authorities.

Further updates regarding the condition of the hospitalized individuals and details of the fire investigation are expected as the authorities continue their thorough review of the incident.
