DUI Driver Arrested in Ventura Following Pursuit and Collision into Patrol Vehicle

Incident: Vehicle Pursuit with Arrest
Location: Victoria Ave / Thille Street
Date/Time Occurred: 8/2/25 @ 0009 hours
Suspects: Aaron Hidalgo, 21-years-old
Report #: 25-47955 

Narrative:  

On the above date and time, the Ventura Police Department received a call of a hit-and-run  collision on northbound Victoria Avenue near Avocet Drive. The victim followed the suspect vehicle and provided real-time updates to dispatchers as officers responded. 

Officers located the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield, and a  short vehicle pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the suspect’s truck struck a patrol vehicle before  rolling over near Thille and Partridge Streets. 

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Aaron Hidalgo of Ventura, sustained minor injuries and  showed signs of intoxication. He was treated at Ventura County Medical Center before being  booked into the Ventura County Jail.

The officer whose patrol vehicle was struck also sustained  minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital. 

Hidalgo was arrested for DUI, felony hit-and-run, and evading police.
