Driver Injured in Santa Maria Pole Collision

A driver sustained critical injuries after colliding with a pole in Santa Maria. 

At 8:52 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the 1800 block of W. Betteravia and discovered a vehicle had collided with a utility pole.

Major extrication was required to disentangle the critically injured driver, said Captain Daniel Bertucelli.

The victim was transported to Marian Medical Center by a ground ambulance.

The collision is under investigation by law enforcement.
