[On Saturday, January 10], at 5:54PM, the Santa Barbara Police Department Communications Center received a call that a vehicle motorist had just collapsed outside their car.
The car had pulled over in the 2000 block of De La Vina St., Santa Barbara Police, the Santa Barbara Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to help the individual.
Police Officers arrived on the scene first. They discovered the motorist on the ground, outside of their vehicle.
The officers evaluated the individual and determined the need to begin CPR. While officers were providing aid, fire and medics arrived and took over medical care.
It appeared that the individual was experiencing a medical emergency. Unfortunately, all lifesaving attempts were unsuccessful, and the individual passed away.
The individual’s identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
