Drive By Shooting in Santa Maria

The Santa Maria Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred outside of a residence in the 800 Blk. of North Stokes. The victim is a 17 year old male who was shot in the leg by an unknown suspect who fled the scene. It is unclear if the victim or suspects were associated with a specific residence in that area. There were at least two suspects, however their identities and ages are unknown at this time. Part of the investigation will be to determine if this was a gang related shooting.

The victim was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot wound. His identity is being withheld due to his age.

Drive-by shooting in Santa Maria, occurred at approx 8:40 pm. The vehicle described as a 4-Door red Nissan last seen Northbound on Stokes from Alvin.
