Dozens of Planes?

Thursday night at about 9:15 pm, as I pulled into my driveway in Painted Cave, I thought I saw a shooting star, but it was a plane flying from the southwest toward the northeast. I may have not seen the first one in the convoy, but all together I counted 40 planes flying single file, not quite evenly spaced, but all in a row at the same speed. Seemed very strange to me.
