Every Wednesday From 6-8 PM in June
The Downtown Santa Barbara Improvement Association (DSBIA) invites residents and visitors to dance into summer with free West Coast Swing dance nights taking place every Wednesday in June on State Street.
Hosted by Serenity Swing, “Westie Wednesdays On State” will be held in front of Night Lizard Brewing Company (607 State Street) and welcomes dancers of all experience levels. Each evening begins with a free beginner-friendly lesson taught by Bryan Gin and Kristen Rhodes from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by open social dancing from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The dancing will continue from 8:00 PM onwards inside Night Lizard, who is sponsoring the event alongside Cuso’s Creamery. No partner or dance experience required to join the fun!
The series is designed to bring the community together through music, movement, and connection while encouraging locals and visitors alike to experience downtown Santa Barbara’s vibrant atmosphere.

Nice! They don’t have all of those cars now so perfect place for it.
With the new plan to now keep some blocks closed to cars, let’s get more events like this. Don’t squander this opportunity and leave it simply “closed,” but use it for community things like dancing, music, art, etc. Don’t give the “Open State Street 100% Because I Hated COVID” people something more to whine about.
Let’s get lower State dialed in and take advantage of the space!
