Downtown Santa Barbara’s large holiday tree arrived in front of the Arlington Theatre on Tuesday, November 25.
Big Red Crane Company motored into the 1300 block of State Street during the lunch hour with a massive tree in its truck bed. A crane and a crew carefully unloaded the tree into the middle of the street and completed the drop off with a star on top.

The Downtown Santa Barbara Improvement Association (DSBIA) is hosting a free community holiday tree lighting on Friday, December 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The party will take place in front of the Arlington Theatre, 1317 State Street, and will feature a variety of free events for all ages, sponsored Consumer Fire Products.

Ah yes….. here comes the “War on Christmas” crying. Of course it’s a Christmas tree. What other holiday celebrates a pine tree with lights at this time of year? Actually, maybe some do? Anyway, who cares what they call it? We all know what it is. The people who don’t celebrate Christmas don’t have anything to complain about so everyone is happy. No one is trying to steal your Christmas rights.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it and happy times for everyone else!
See? Not so hard to not be a selfish jerk during the holidays.
