Downtown Santa Barbara tasting room and bistro Tyler x Lieu Dit announced it is taking a seasonal pause to make “thoughtful updates”.
The pause is due to planned renovations during the winter months. According to the announcement, the tasting room promised it will reopen in spring 2026 as “Tyler x Lieu Dit 2.0.”

The winery said additional updates regarding reopening plans will be announced in the coming months.
The Tyler x Lieu Dit tasting room and bistro is located at 23 E. Canon Perdido Street in downtown Santa Barbara.
While the downtown tasting room is closed, visitors can still book tastings at Tyler Winery’s Mae Estate in the Santa Rita Hills. Tastings at the estate are available by appointment.
According to the winery’s website, founder Justin Tyler Willett and his wife, Amanda, planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah across 28 acres at the Mae Estate.
Tyler Winery was founded in Santa Barbara in 2005 by Justin Tyler Willett, who launched the winery at age 24.
In March 2025, Tyler Winery marked its 20th anniversary, reflecting its growth from a small project into an established wine estate. The winery has also announced a sparkling wine program produced using the traditional méthode champenoise.

Recent Closures of Local Wine Tasting Rooms
In addition to the temporary closure of Tyler x Lieu Dit, several wineries have recently announced permanent closures in Santa Barbara, reflecting changes in the local wine scene.
J. Wilkes Wines has closed its Santa Barbara tasting room, according to its Yelp page, as previously reported by Edhat.
The tasting room was located at 35 State Street in the Funk Zone, near Stearns Wharf. The winery specialized in wines sourced from Central Coast sub-AVAs, including traditional varietals, rare selections, and non-alcoholic options. While the physical location has closed, its wines remain available for purchase online.
Local favorite Municipal Winemakers also announced the permanent closure of its Funk Zone tasting room at 22 Anacapa Street after 15 years in business. The closure will be marked by two farewell weekends, with the final day scheduled for January 25, 2026. According to the winery, operations will continue at its Potek Winery location in Santa Barbara and its newer Ventura tasting room.
