Is there an alternative lighting source for State Street during Fiesta? The current units installed have loud engines with poor light quality. During my short walk back from the wharf, I encountered no fewer than six of these things.

The gas-powered generators powering the light are horribly inefficient and are polluting the pedestrian promenade.

Oh, another person who doesn't want us to celebrate Fiesta!? Why shouldn't the party ignore these noisy and polluting devices as long as someone is able to make a profit?

Use quieter, more powerful, portable lights?

Those are for identifying would be stabbers and shooters, not for illuminating your average citizen joe passage

ok since no one gave any suggestions I will.

Solar power lighting, solar battery backup lighting. both are a thing, and a possibility. if you want it, you need to voice this to the city. the cost up front is daunting so you need to understand that.

electric cars, like electric equipment ( forklifts etc ) require a larger UPFRONT cost to get going becuase of the gear. BUT they have less overall maintenance costs compared to gasoline engines ( i.e oil changes, fuel, spark plugs, filters, seals etc. )

so it is an option and a viable one, but the cost has to be justified for the use. and if they dont use them enough, im guessing someone in the planning department says "it would cost too much"
