What in the hell is going on with this town? The other evening I was driving in the 500 block of State Street in an open convertible when what appeared to be a tall, scroungy transient on the sidewalk started yelling and screaming for no reason. When I turned my head to see the source of the commotion, he made eye contact with me and made a run at my car. Fortunately, the light changed and I was able to get out of his way. The only “weapon” I had was a half-empty can of Coke Zero. I see why tourists are nervous about being downtown.
