Nikki and Nelson are an adorable pair of sweet and affectionate Maltese mixes (best guess). Nikki is three years old and Nelson is one year old, and they weigh nine and ten pounds respectively. Both came into rescue in early December, and shortly thereafter Nikki gave birth to three beautiful puppies.
Nikki, Nelson, and the puppies have spent several months in the loving care of their foster family, and now that the puppies have all been adopted it’s time for this precious pair to find their forever home (Nikki and Nelson have both been neutered/spayed so no more puppies!)
Their foster family tells us that Nikki and Nelson have a perfect combination of spunk and chill, and that they are super cuddly and affectionate. Both love everyone they meet although Nikki is a little bit shy initially. Nelson is the more outgoing of the pair and assures Nikki everything is okay. Nikki and Nelson get along well with other dogs, are learning to walk nicely on a leash, and are well on their way to being fully housebroken. When left alone they keep each other company, and truly in Nikki and Nelson’s case two dogs are easier than one.
The ideal home for Nikki and Nelson would be with a retired person/couple, or someone who is around a lot since they really enjoy human company as well as being with each other.
