Dog of the Week: Bentley

Source: Spark Rescue

READY FOR ADOPTION

Bentley is an adorable 7-year old, 6-pound purebred Yorkshire terrier. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. Bentley walks on leash and is pad-trained. (He does need to be watched around rugs and carpets). He loves walks and trips to the dog park, sitting out in the backyard, and running around.

Bentley is very healthy, happy, and energetic, however, he can also be anxious, fearful, and scared of loud noises, and may bite when he is afraid. But mostly, he is a sweet and friendly dog

Bentley needs a patient and understanding owner who is familiar with the Yorkie breed and will be gentle but firm. He was a backyard breeder dog for the first 5 years of his life, and we would recommend continued positive reinforcement training to help him with his fear issues. He would do best in a quiet home with no children, and no male dogs, as he tries to assert himself as the alpha male in the household.
