Disoriented Hawk Captured in Downtown Store

A red-tailed hawk that could not get out of Samy’s camera in Santa Barbara Monday was finally cornered by a city firefighter and a member of the Wildlife Care Network.

The reluctant bird got into the entryway of the store but could not get back out through the front doors. Once it was caught in a net it was inspected, deemed healthy and released nearby.

The fire department says for big birds that may injure themselves they try to help if possible.
