Don’t be alarmed if you see a lot of emergency response to the Santa Barbara Airport Wednesday, it’s part of a full-scale disaster drill.

The Santa Barbara Airport Triennial Full-Scale Disaster Drill exercise will take place between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

The purpose of the drill is to have emergency responders practice and prepare in the case of a major aircraft disaster. It will be conducted in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration requirements.

Those in the area, especially on Hollister Ave between Aero Camino and Los Carneros may see smoke as a part of the mock drill scenario.
