Detectives and our Behavioral Sciences Unit are investigating a threat related to Jonata Middle School- at this point in their investigation, they have established there is no credible threat to Jonata Middle School.
Detectives have contacted involved parties and are working with school administrators on follow up.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Sheriff’s Detectives at 805-681-4150. We plan to share additional information as it becomes available.

It’s good to know the police are taking threats to schools seriously. Too many times do we hear after a mass shooting or other tragedy that there were previous threats. We have a serious problem unique to this country and we can no longer ignore even the most benign threats.
