A home destroyed in the Montecito mudflow is being used for two days for training scenarios by Santa Barbara City  and Montecito Fire Protection District firefighters. Later this week it will be taken down.
The homeowner plans to rebuild on the same site.

I did not use the word "object", you did.. Donation is good.. However, the mock scenario already exists for "continued training". Besides, one cannot train to be prepared for chaos-theory, but it makes folks feel secure I guess.

Un-necessary.. Responders are already "trained" in confined-space-rescue etc.. Someone got paid for the use of this property, why not just say so?

KEYT article states the use was a donation. Also stated several of the trainees were relatively new hires. I also cannot understand how someone could object to this. Seems like a win for everyone, including us, the taxpaying public who rely on firefighters in an emergency.
