Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee, is set to arrive in Southern California this Sunday, marking the beginning of a three-day fundraising tour across California and Washington. T
he Harris-Walz campaign confirmed Governor Walz’s itinerary, which kicks off following his participation in the first and only Vice Presidential debate of this election cycle.
Walz, partnering with presidential nominee Kamala Harris, will touch down in Los Angeles Sunday evening after hosting a campaign reception in San Diego earlier that day. The event, aimed at bolstering the Harris Victory Fund, will move to Montecito by the evening.
The fundraising blitz continues with Walz heading to Seattle by Monday night, where he is slated for another campaign reception Tuesday morning. His West Coast run concludes with a return to California for a Tuesday afternoon reception in Sacramento.
The Harris-Walz campaign’s decision to traverse the West Coast underscores Southern California’s reputation as a fertile ground for political fundraising. Over recent weeks, candidates from both major parties have frequented the area, demonstrating its strategic importance in the race.
Notable figures including President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, alongside Donald Trump, have all made appearances, contributing to the over dozen campaign fundraisers held in LA and Orange counties since February.
Governor Walz’s California visit arrives hot on the heels of the Vice Presidential debate where he squared off against Republican nominee, Ohio Senator JD Vance, Trump’s chosen running mate. As the campaign season heats up, both campaigns are making strategic pushes into key areas, with Southern California proving to be a critical battleground for gathering support and boosting campaign coffers.

Welcome to the area, Coach! Such a good person.
Boo… Tim Walz says, ‘There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech, especially around our democracy.’
Yeah… a federal judge halted the enforcement of a Democrat-created California law targeting election misinformation. The ruling placed an injunction on the law, which violated Californians’ First Amendment rights.
Boo… Mark Zuckerberg wrote that the Biden-Harris administration pressured Facebook to censor content and pushed harder after the company initially resisted the government’s coercion.
Boo… Vice President Kamala Harris told CNN that social media companies ‘are directly speaking to millions and millions of people without any level of oversight or regulation, and it has to stop.’
John Kerry said, ‘Our First Amendment stands as a major block to being able to, you know, hammer [misinformation] out of existence.’
Free speech keeps us free.
(And before you go there, there are no banned books in the U.S.)
My body, my voice.
There’s no such thing as absolute Free Speech in this country. It is always a push and pull.
What a sucker. But, in your bubble, nobody knows any better.
Which tidbit was incorrect? Can you elaborate without mentioning Trump?
Are you not aware of the federal government’s interference with online content and comments, or of some politicians’ willingness to quell speech they disagree with?
The VP candidate Walz did actually say, ‘There’s no guarantee to free speech…..”
Amazing how cons define the spread of disinformation as free speech. Lies are their current currency, and chaos is their current platform.
Who decides what is disinformation? You? Those in power? The majority?
Free speech allows marginalized groups to confront those in power and question unjust systems. Whether it’s exposing unfair laws, discrimination, or corruption, marginalized people can use free speech to demand accountability and equality.
Shall those in power decide what can and should be allowed to be said?
Lies and “hate” speech are protected by the 1ST.
Some threats of violence and defamation are not.
Since harmful lies are his stock and trade, of course that idiot would love for them to be disseminated freely. Yet another example of how he misinterprets the constitution.
ANON – “Who decides what is disinformation” – the facts. Science. Truth. Not those who have zero expertise in a field and then say all the experts are wrong and that it’s a “liberal hoax” or some such nonsense.
Haitian immigrants are NOT eating peoples’ pets. FACT.
ANON – he CORRECTLY said there’s no guarantee of free speech when it comes to lies that can harm the masses (eg, misinformation campaigns against covid vaccines or lies about disaster relief and support). That’s a good thing.
Most of us live in reality, not a world of made up facts and willful ignorance of science and simple reasoning. It’s a good place to live.
The biggest purveyor of misinformation and false claims is the government.
-Biden again falsely claims inflation was 9% when he became president
-Sen. Kamala Harris said that she “watched as President Trump, having gassed peaceful protesters just so he could do this photo op, then he went on to tear gas priests who were helping protesters in Lafayette Park.” An independent investigation by the inspector general of the Interior Department has concluded it wasn’t true.
-Biden said “He sat and watched on the 6th of January, watched that riot go on, watched those people being KILLED — watched the COPS being KILLED…,” and Nancy Pelosi asked for moment of silence in memory of those who lost their lives …. THAT DAY.” Other than the unarmed woman shot by a police officer, only one other person was killed that day.
-Kamala Harris she said there are no U.S. troops in combat zones; there are.
-Warren and Kamala Harris said Michael Brown was murdered. Justice Dept. Justice determined was an act of “self-defense.” He was killed, not murdered.
-Once you get the vaccine, you can’t spread Covid.
-Wall Street Journal published a story highlighting efforts by Biden’s handlers to deceive the media, the public, and influential Democrats about Biden’s physical and mental health.
-Hillary Clinton’s campaign made and paid for the Russian collusion hoax, which asserted that Donald Trump had “worked with the Russians to try to rig the 2016 election,” to quote then-House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.). It was one of the most blatant and egregious disinformation efforts we have ever seen.
-US government and major social media companies worked with Stanford University to censor or limit true information about Covid-19.
-Fauci ridiculed the idea of the public wearing face masks. Some three months later, he was urging everyone to wear a mask, even two masks, regardless of age or health status
-YouTube removed content from Senator Paul’s channel for including claims that masks are ineffective in preventing the contraction or transmission of COVID-19. Face masks made ‘little to no difference’ in preventing spread of COVID. NIH states, Wearing masks in the community probably makes little or no difference to the outcome of influenza-like illness (ILI)/COVID-19 like illness compared to not wearing masks.
-Election Integrity Project (EIP) was created in the summer of 2020 to provide a way for the federal government to launder its censorship activities in hopes of bypassing both the First Amendment and public scrutiny.
And, contrary to what Walz believes, the 1st Amendment does guarantee freedom of speech, even if you don’t like the message.
Heck, Walz misleadingly claims to have been in Hong Kong during a period tied to the Tiananmen Square massacre. Do we really want him and other government workers deciding on what may be said and discussed and what is considered “hate” speech?
Santa Maria Times…52 percent of Democrats approved of government censoring social media posts for “national security.” Even more shocking, a third of Democrats believe Americans have “too much freedom.”
74 percent of registered Republicans and 61 percent of independents say speech should be legal “under any circumstances.”
My body, my voice.
Dump that load of horse manure all over!
LOL! Yeah, ask his military buds what a “good person” he was when he bailed on them when he found out they were being deployed….! Exaggerating your RANK and “Combat” Service is called “Stolen Valor”… 30 + Trips to China, I wonder if he has China’s best interest in mind…?
What a fool. CW again spews disinformation from his orange bubble.
Where is the pickup location for money Walz will be releasing in order to have someone at this event?
Walz doesn’t need a crowd at this private affair in California – he’s already going to win here. This is fundraising, pure and simple. He’s not releasing money; he’s taking it with him. Trump is the one who needs to boost his dwindling crowd sizes, for his ego if not his campaign.
Good one Doulie?
No one in their right state of mind will actually vote for Harris/Walz because they think they can run a country. They’re bumbling buffoons worse than anyone
Harris and Walz are both proven successful and capable executives in government. That’s valuable experience. I believe they can run the country because they have demonstrated intelligence and compassion by their words and actions. They know how to inspire people to work together, so they will have a team of smart people focused on making government serve and help ordinary people. Hopefully they will keep a lot of Biden’s cabinet in place.
Kirk – You are kidding, right? Right?
DOULIE – now tell us how Trump is smarter than Harris or has more compassion or tries to get both sides of the aisle working together? Bullet points will do just fine.
We were hoping you were, and not living up to your Do_Lie handle.
Nope, I am perfectly serious.
You’ll know it if I make a joke.
Well, most people will anyway.
From you, that’s an endorsement.
See, it’s this sort of statement that is so ridiculous you can’t possibly think you’ll be taken seriously. These extremes of thinking–“No one in their right state of mind”, “buffoons worse than anyone”. Blah, blah, blah. According to you people Biden has been brain dead or asleep the last four years and look at you, you’re just fine aren’t you.
Harris fundraising in Hollywood and Walz in Montecitio. Get a clue. The Dems are the ones for the elite wealthy!
ANON – “elite wealthy?” Have you ever read much about Donald Trump? Elon Musk? Any of the countless billionaires funding the GOP? You even know what the GOP stands for? It’s about as “elite” as you can get.
But no, go one with the “dEmS r eLITiSt” hypocritical hogwash….
LOL you are literally going to vote for a corrupt billionaire.
But that’s only being smart if you’re trying to raise money. That’s where it is.
RUBY says “Walz retired upon finding his unit was going to Iraq.”
Hey RUBY, that’s just not true and has been proven false many times over. You’re batting like 0 for 1000 around here.
Interesting:
Trump would add twice as much to national debt as Harris, study finds
Trump’s campaign proposals would increase the ballooning national debt by $7.5 trillion; Harris’s would add $3.5 trillion, according to a nonpartisan think tank.

Former president Donald Trump’s campaign proposals would add more than twice as much to the national debt as Vice President Kamala Harris’s would, according to new research released Monday — though both candidates’ policies would lead to trillions of dollars in new borrowing if implemented.
Trump has called for extending his 2017 tax cuts, which would add more than $5 trillion over 10 years to the United States’ $35.7 trillion national debt, according to a study from the nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB). His plan to end taxes on overtime wages, Social Security benefits and tips would add another $3.6 trillion in debt. And his call for a nationwide campaign to detain and deport undocumented immigrants would cost
$350 billion.
Trump says major new tariffs on imports would bring in enough revenue to offset all the tax cuts, but the study doesn’t support that claim, and many economists say the tariffs would also drive prices up for U.S. consumers.
All told, CRFB found that the Trump policies it studied would add $7.5 trillion of debt — more than twice as much as the Harris proposals the group scrutinized.
Harris would add $3 trillion to the debt by extending the 2017 tax cuts for those earning less than $400,000 a year, and $1.35 trillion through a major expansion of the child tax credit and the earned income tax credit, according to the study. Harris’s campaign says those programs would cost far less.
Harris has also called for ending income taxes on tips, but her campaign has discussed maintaining payroll tax requirements and adding guardrails that restrict what kind of workers could be eligible. That would cost $200 billion, according to the study.
“Despite the fact that our fiscal situation is really unhealthy, we have two candidates whose proposals, if looked at comprehensively, would make the situation worse rather than better, with a noticeable distinction that former president Trump would make it significantly worse,” CRFB President Maya MacGuineas told The Washington Post.
Many of the candidates’ plans to both spend and raise money are hypothetical and would require approval from a deeply divided Congress. But taxes, debt and fiscal policy will define much of Harris’s or Trump’s presidency — and dominate political battles in Washington next year.
