Critical Injury in Santa Maria Vehicle Rollover

One person sustained critical injuries from a high-speed single-vehicle rollover collision in Santa Maria on Saturday morning.

At 9:17 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters, Santa Maria City firefighters, Calstar helicopter, and a ground ambulance responded to Betteravia and Rosemary Roads. Crews determined the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and rolled over.

The single occupant sustained critical injuries and required extensive extrication from the vehicle. Once extricated, the patient was loaded into the Calstar helicopter and transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

Law enforcement will determine the cause of the collision.
