A structure fire broke out Tuesday morning at a single-story family residence on the 1300 block of Deer Trail Lane in Santa Ynez.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the blaze was reported at approximately 9:55 a.m.

A first alarm fire was issued as the fire started in the garage and extended into the attic. Crews were able to knock the fire down at 10:35 a.m. keeping it contained to those two areas.
