The City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce that the 18th season of Concerts in the Park 2017 will kick off its summer concert series on Thursday, July 6. Opening night will feature national touring act The PettyBreakers, a tribute to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Concerts in the Park performances take place in Chase Palm Park from 6:00–8:30pm on Thursday evenings. These free events have become a Santa Barbara tradition since the program was founded in 2000. Concert attendees bring blankets and picnics, with groups of friends joining in and dancing in front of the stage as the night progresses. Big Joe’s Brats will also be on site with food and beverages available.

This season’s Concerts in the Park presenting sponsor is the Wood-Claeyssens Foundation. Armstrong Associates, Dennis Forster of the Forster Group at Morgan Stanley, the Santa Barbara Ski Club, the Santa Barbara Blues Society, K-LITE 101.7, 99.9 KTYD, Voice Magazine, and the Santa Barbara Independent all contributed generous sponsorships to help make sure Concerts in the Park could again be part of Santa Barbara’s summertime cultural calendar.
